It was a stupid thing, really. Clem truly had no reason too join Team Aqua in the first place- he might have been bored, or maybe deep down he was a truly evil person that would stop at nothing too kill all. That made much more sense, but he knew it was probably a passing feeling. He was truly only twelve- almost thirteen, at that- he was truly too young to steal.. But the thought of it made him grin so hard that it almost hurt. The pain, however, just felt so right.

"Ugh, this machine is rather snug.." He said, pulling the snag machine down on his skin. He was wearing something irregular from the usual attire- hoodie, jeans,- and instead he was wearing a simple white t-shirt along with khaki shorts- one leg reaching only too his knee and the other leg reaching down too the middle of his calves. It was weird, but Clem liked it, so he didn't care much. Around his belt which held up his shorts were six pokeballs strung around his waist, which he would eventually turn into snag balls through some procedure he wasn't sure of.

Clem strolled along the streets of Goldenrod, barefoot, along with a blue bandana tied around his neck. Many a trainer were wondering or meandering there way along the busy highroad too either Ilex Forest or the Gym of Goldenrod, where they might go too catch another pokemon or try and obtain a badge for bragging rights, or the fun of it. Either way, he almost felt a tad jealous at the fact he wouldn't get badges, instead he'd fight and catch pokemon all day without any responsibilities.

He almost felt jealous. In truth, he felt almost a little happier than he might have.

It was mostly because feeling like a thief, always on the run and not really ever wanted around gave him a rather risky, cool feeling that made him just want too shout with glee, but that would look too unprofessional. So instead he gave himself a grin, and hummed a song that he admired while he walked down the alleyways and streets of Goldenrod, looking ever so presently for a trainer that was walking alongside a pokemon he could snag.

A young, bouncy-looking girl with a curled blonde ponytail and bannana bangs bounced through the streets of the city, looking way too excited and happy for her own good. She was just beaming for what appeared to be no apparent reason at all, which could easily be seen as annoying... especially to someone who wasn't the nicest old joe.

She wore a belt around her way-too-short shorts in which three minimized PokeBalls, one which was marked with a yellow star and seemed to be the girl's main Pokemon.

Clem continued too look around the city, trying too find an easy catch where all he would do was simply catch the thing while it was still out. He wasn't so sure stealing the pokeball from the trainer's belt would be a good idea, so he wouldn't do that. Instead he might try and trick them too bring out there pokemon, then catch it once it was out. He would just have too make sure he found someone that was gullible enough too actually follow his trick.

Eventually, after walking through the streets enough he found someone, a girl, who looked like she might fall for a trick, but Clem resented his judgment. He could make a terrible mistake and be found by the police, and he didn't know what exactly too do then. All he wanted to do was get his pokemon. Clem jumped into the alleyways as soon as he saw the girl, and peek back at the streets looking at the girl, waiting till she passed by, and he would pull his prank.

Soon, she passed by him, and he stepped out of the alleyways. "Hey you, girl, with the extremely short shorts." He was hoping that she would look back, there were other girls with rather short shorts. "I challenge you too a battle. Strongest pokemon." He took a pokeball from his belt and maximized it, making sure too grab it with the hand that didn't have the Snag machine. Any person would think he actually HAD a pokemon in there, but in reality, he didn't. It was just an empty pokeball, waiting too be a snag ball. "You first."

Hearing someone calling to her, the girl turned around, one of those average-girl sneers on her face with her mouth in a circle and her nose pointing upward. "'Woah. You, like, appeared from nowhere. What do you want, like, scary-dude-guy?" She then listened as he proposed the thought of battle, and she tipper her head up, bringing a finger to her chin in thought and then smiled, agreeing. 'Well, okay, I guess. Like, A little training never hurt I guess~"

Reaching around to her PokeBalls, she snatched up the one with the star on it, maximized it, and then tossed it into the air, revealing the little Phamphy. "Tah-dah, my little Phamphy-kins~"

Clem really disliked this girl. She seemed snobby and stupid, and a little too overbearing of her pokemon, calling them baby names and possibly degrading them by using annoying high pitched voices to talk too them. Pokemon weren't playtoys too Clem, they were civil creatures that he showed respect, even if he was supposed too abuse them beyond any relief in Team Aqua. Maybe around his Leaders, but otherwise he wouldn't be so harsh.

Clem gave a rather cruel looking smile as she released her pokemon. || A Phanphy, that'll do, I suppose. || He thought too himself. There were definitely others he would have liked, but it's not like Phanphy was a bad pokemon. Donphan was a pretty strong pokemon, so he'd enjoy it. He had too catch the thing, first, which wasn't that much of a problem. The pokemon was already out for him, and Snag balls had a high catch rate.

"I can't believe you bought that.." He smirked, as he grasped the pokeball with his snag machine. The pokeball changed it's colors and became a Snag Ball, which he immediately threw at the Phanphy.

The girl smiled, and rocked back and forth on her heels as she waited for him to reveal a Pokemon of his own. She seemed to get fairly impatient, and pouted cutely, until the boy then said something about buying something. "Eh? I didn't buy anything... I was on my way to the department store though. Oh, are they having a secret super shopper sale? I love those~! They always have those cute cheap shoes on sale to wear around the house. Never in public, though, that'd be just silly. I see people wearing them anyway, it's soooo silly..."

as she rambled on, the boy had thrown a PokeBall at her Phamphy, where it went inside in a flash of red light, but then popped back out almost instantly.

Clem was baffled. Flim-flammed. Bamboozled. A bit of a rube in the big city. Why wasn't the thing caught? That's how it worked. Throw the ball, BAM, caught. It didn't look like it worked, though. It popped out almost seconds after it went it! It just wasn't right!

"... Let's try that again..." He muttered to himself as he tossed the ball at the pokemon's head. The girl was rambling on about shoes or something dumb like that, but Clem didn't care about her. He wanted that Phanpy. "Alright, if it doesn't work this time, I'll just run, look for someone else..." He didn't care for Phanpy much anyway!
